INTERLUDE: Long Granny

It feels good to be writing again and sometimes sometimes I have thoughts. Thoughts that aren't about cancer or D&D or the cat. Behind the scenes I have some pieces that I'm working on but for now, I have something more wholesome that the vitriol in my notes app. We interrupt your regular scheduled programming for An Interlude. In this episode...

Long Granny Autumnal Scarf

At the beginning of autumn it feels appropriate to have a fresh scarf. I actually made the pattern for this myself and it's far more coherent than my normal crochet notes. I used ~200g of Stylecraft's chunky fusion yarn for this with a 6.0mm hook.

It's US terms, sorry.

ch = chain
dc = double crochet (treble UK)
sl = slip stitch (single UK)
sc = single crochet (double UK)

INITIAL GRANNY SQUARE

Start with a magic circle or 4ch joined to main a ring

Row 1: ch2 (=1dc) [2dc, ch1]x3, join with sl

Row 2: sl to corner, [3dc, ch1, 3dc] in each corner, join with sl

Row 3: sl to corner, [3dc, ch1, 3dc] in corner, 3dc in gap between clusters, repeat around square, join with sl

Row 4: sl to corner, [3dc, ch1, 3dc] in corner, 3dc x 2 in gaps between clusters, repeat around square, join with sl

SCARF TIME

Row 5: sl to corner, turn, ch3, 3dc in next 3 spaces, [3dc, ch1, 3dc] in corner (this is now the point of your scarf), 3dc in next 3 spaces, dc in final space

Row 6: turn, ch3, 3dc in next 3 spaces, [3dc, ch1, 3dc] in point, 3dc in next 3 spaces, dc in final space

Rows 7-X: repeat row 6 until your scarf is at your desired length.

Row Y: sc around the entire edge with 3sc in each ch3 space

Row Z: hdc in each stitch around

Also, I added lil tassels to the points.

Thanks for subscribing, I really appreciate it.
